President and Chief Executive Officer
Benjamin Shaw is the president and chief executive officer of Covetrus. Previously, he served as the CEO, president, and co-founder of Vets First Choice for nearly 8 years. Ben also cofounded private investment partnership Black Point Group, where he was a partner for 14 years. He holds a B.A. in biology, political science, and environmental studies from Bates College.
Christine T. Komola
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Christine T. Komola is the executive vice president and chief financial officer at Covetrus, before which she was EVP and CFO at Vets First Choice. Prior to joining Vets First Choice, Christine served as CFO of office supply company Staples, Inc. She has a B.S. in business administration and accounting from Miami University.
Erin Powers Brennan
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Erin Powers Brennan is the senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary at Covetrus. She also served as general counsel of Vets First Choice. Prior to Vets First Choice, Erin was a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a law firm. She holds a J.D. from Boston College Law School, an M.A. in law and diplomacy from the Tufts University Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and a B.A. in government and Latin American studies from Scripps College.
Senior Vice President and Operational Chief Financial Officer
Russell Cooke is the senior vice president and operational chief financial officer at Covetrus. Before Covetrus, Russell was vice president and CFO at Global Animal Health for Henry Schein. He also previously served as CFO of US Animal Health, CFO of European Animal Health, and CFO of UK Animal Health. Russell is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and holds a B.A. in accounting and finance.
Senior Vice President and President, North America
Francis Dirksmeier is the senior vice president and president of North America at Covetrus. Previously, he was president at Henry Schein Animal Health at Henry Schein. Before that, Francis worked at General Electric as general manager and GM of global asset management and hospital operations management. Francis received a B.A. in business management from Assumption College.
David Christopher Dollar
SVP and President, Global Software Services
David Christopher Dollar is the senior vice president and president of global software and services at Covetrus. Prior to Covetrus, he served as president of global animal health practice solutions at Henry Schein. David has also been chief operating officer at software company HealthMEDX. He has a B.S. in communications and media studies from Missouri State University.
Senior Vice President and President, Europe
Michael Ellis is the senior vice president and president of Europe at Covetrus. He has held previous positions as CFO, general manager, vice president, and president of Europe at Henry Schein Animal Health at Henry Schein. Michael is a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant, FCMA, and has a diploma in business studies from Sheffield University.
Senior Vice President and President, APAC and Emerging Markets
David Hinton is the senior vice president and president of APAC and emerging markets at Covetrus. Previously, David was vice president and managing director at ANZ and vice president and managing director of UK, Ireland and France at Henry Schein Animal Health. David holds a post graduate diploma in management studies, and a diploma in marketing from the University of the West of England.
Senior Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer
Timothy Ludlow is the senior vice president and chief transformation officer at Covetrus. He previously served as CFO, then as chief integration and transformation officer, at Vets First Choice. Before Vets First Choice, Timothy was also CFO of Pine State Trading Company, a beverage distribution company, and, senior vice president and treasurer of C&S Wholesale Grocers. He is a qualified UK accountant, FCCA.
Senior Vice President, Corporate Development
Anthony Providenti is the senior vice president of corporate development at Covetrus. Before that, Anthony served in a number of positions at Henry Schein, including vice president of corporate business development group, and vice president of strategy and development at Global Animal Health Group. He has a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and a B.S. in accounting from Lehigh University.
SVP and President, Global Prescription Management
Georgina Wraight is the senior vice president and president of global prescription management at Covetrus. Previously, Georgina served as president and COO at Vets First Choice. She was also COO of the shoe manufacturer Rockport Company, and both group CFO and COO of Highline United & Modern Shoe Company. Georgina is a qualified Fellow Chartered Management Accountant, FCMA.
Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer
James Young is the senior vice president and chief human resources officer at Covetrus. He previously served as senior vice president and CHRO at Vets First Choice. Prior to Vets First Choice, James was also CHRO at Aptuit, LLC, and served as co-founder and COO of Ruckus Media Group. He has a B.A. in philosophy and political science from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

David E. Shaw
Chairman of the Board
David Shaw co-founded Vets First Choice and served as chair of the Vets First Choice Board from 2010 until the founding of Covetrus. He is currently managing partner of Black Point Group, a private investment partnership that he founded and has led since 2003. David also founded IDEXX Laboratories, a developer of products and services for the companion animal and veterinary industry, where he was CEO and board chair for 18 years. Throughout his career, David has also held leadership positions at Itaconix PLC, Modern Meadow, Inc., Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, The Jackson Laboratory, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the National Park Foundation, and the Aspen Institute’s Aspen High Seas Initiative. He earned his B.A. from the University of New Hampshire and MBA from the University of Southern Maine. As co-founder of Vets First Choice and a leader in the animal health industry, David contributes his knowledge of the business and market to the Covetrus board.
Philip A. Laskawy
Lead Independent Director
Philip Laskawy joined the accounting firm EY (formerly Ernst & Young) in 1961 and served as a partner in the firm from 1971 to 2001, when he retired. There, he also served in various senior management positions, including chairman and CEO. Most recently, Philip served as a director for Henry Schein, having served on the board since 2002 and as the lead independent director since 2012. He has also been on the board of directors of Loews Corporation and Lazard Ltd., and held leadership positions at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, International Accounting Standards Committee Foundation, General Motors Corporation, and Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae). Philip holds a B.A. in economics from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. As a certified public accountant with over 50 years of experience, he brings exceptional skills in corporate finance and accounting, corporate governance, compliance, disclosure and international business conduct to the Covetrus board.

Betsy Atkins previously served as a member of the Vets First Choice Board. Before that, Betsy was CEO of venture capital firm Baja LLC. She has also held positions as chairman and CEO of Clear Standards, Inc., chairman and CEO of NCI, Inc, and co-founder of Ascend Communications. Betsy also serves on the board of directors of Schneider Electric SE, SL Green Realty Corp., Volvo Car Group and Volvo Car AB, and Wynn Resorts. In the past, she has been on the boards of directors of Darden Restaurants, Inc., HD Supply Holdings, Inc., Wix.com Ltd., Chico’s FAS, Inc., and SunPower Corporation. She has a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and brings her depth of executive leadership experience and global business perspective from her service on other public company boards to the Covetrus board.
Deborah G. Ellinger
Deborah Ellinger is a senior advisor for The Boston Consulting Group and lead independent director of iRobot Corp, a technology company. Her past leadership roles include: president and CEO of aesthetic treatment company Ideal Image, chairman and CEO of The Princeton Review, president of Restoration Hardware, and president and CEO of Wellness Pet Food. Deborah has also served as an executive vice president at CVS Pharmacy, senior vice president at Staples, Inc., and partner at The Boston Consulting Group. She brings extensive board experience, having served on boards for Interpublic Group of Companies, National Life Group, Sealy, Inc., and several private companies. Deborah has lived and worked in Europe, Asia and the United States. She holds an M.A. and B.A. in law and mathematics from the University of Cambridge, England and is qualified as a barrister-at-law in London. The Covetrus board is excited to have Deborah’s extensive experience in international consumer-oriented businesses, including in the animal health and pharmacy markets, and her global business perspective.
Sandra L. Helton
Sandra Helton was executive vice president and CFO of Telephone and Data Systems, Inc., (TDS) where she was responsible for finance, information technology, and other corporate functions. Prior to TDS, she spent over 20 years with tech company Corning Incorporated in engineering, strategy and finance positions, eventually becoming senior vice president and treasurer. Sandra also serves on the boards of directors for Principal Financial Group, Inc. and OptiNose, Inc. Previously, Sandra has held positions as vice president and corporate controller of Compaq Computer Corporation and on the boards of directors of TDS, US Cellular Corporation, Covance, Inc., and Lexmark International, Inc. She is currently a trustee of two non-profit organizations, Northwestern Memorial Foundation and Chicago Architectural Foundation. Sandra holds a B. S. in mathematics from the University of Kentucky and a S.M. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School with double majors in finance and planning & control. She brings her global executive experience in corporate strategy, finance, accounting and control, treasury, investments, information technology, and other corporate administrative functions, as well as her extensive corporate governance experience to the Covetrus board.
Mark J. Manoff
Mark Manoff was a partner of EY from 1990 until his retirement as Americas vice chair. During his time with EY, Mark held various positions including New York office managing partner and Northeast Region managing partner. He also founded and led the EY Center for Board Matters. Mark is a member of the board of directors of The First Tee of Metropolitan New York, and previously served on the board for Roundabout Theatre. He is on the advisory board (previously serving as chair) at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, where he received his B.S. in accounting. Mark contributes his extensive experience in accounting and corporate governance to the Covetrus board.
Edward M. McNamara
Edward (Ted) McNamara served as a member of the Vets First Choice board. He is the co-founder and president of TeamLaunch, LLC, a venture-building company and CFO and director of RCW Inc., a luxury product company. Before founding TeamLaunch, Ted served as an executive in residence at General Catalyst Partners focusing on consumer growth opportunities. He has held various leadership positions, including CFO of Retail Convergence Inc., CFO, COO, president and interim CEO at two operating businesses of Cendant Corporation, including Wright Express, Inc. and Cendant’s Travel Distribution Division, chairman of the board of Wright Express Financial Services, Inc., and member of the board of directors of Counter Brands, LLC. He began his career at PriceWaterhouse, and moved onto a number of accounting, finance and administrative positions for Abex Inc., an aerospace manufacturing company. Ted holds a B.S. from Providence College, and offers his significant finance and management experience in high growth businesses as well as his deep current knowledge of internet and digital-based commerce across multiple industries to the Covetrus board.
Steve Paladino has been Henry Schein’s executive vice president and CFO since 2000, has served as a member of their board since 1992, and is a member of their executive management committee. Henry Schein is also where Steven began his career in 1987. Before joining Henry Schein, Steven was a certified public accountant, most recently with the international accounting firm of BDO USA, LLP. He has also served as a Nasdaq Listing and Hearing Review Council member, currently serves on the board of directors of MSC Industrial Direct Co., Inc., and is a member of its audit committee and compensation committee. Steven holds a B.A. from Bernard M. Baruch College, and brings extensive financial, accounting and industry expertise and a strong, credible reputation within the financial industry to the Covetrus Board.
Ravi Sachdev served as a member of the Vets First Choice board. Today, he is a partner of private equity firm CD&R, focusing on the healthcare sector. Previously, Ravi held positions as a managing director and co-head of healthcare services at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., managing director at Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc., and director at Deutsche Bank AG, vice president at Peter J. Solomon Company. He was also a member on the board of directors of Healogics, Inc., Agilon Health, Inc., and naviHealth, Inc., a private technology enabled health services company. Ravi holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan. His 20 years of professional experience in investment banking and private equity, thorough understanding of the financial issues affecting public companies, insights into business valuation and practical orientation with respect to acquisitions and integrations are key qualities he brings to the Covetrus board.
Benjamin Wolin currently serves as an advisor to 3L Capital LLC, a growth-stage private equity firm. Previously, Benjamin was the CEO and co-founder of Everyday Health, Inc., a communications and marketing platform for consumers, doctors and healthcare companies, and a member of its board of directors for 14 years. Today, he serves on the board of directors of Diplomat Pharmacy, Inc., lead independent director of the board, member of the audit committee, and chair of the nominating and corporate governance committee. Benjamin is also chairman of the board of Rockwell Medical, Inc. and member of the board of directors of Dance Biopharm, Frontline Medical Communications, and SourceMedia, LLC. He received his B.A. in history from Bowdoin College, and brings extensive experience with digital healthcare, pharmacy, technology, and public company board governance and his financial and operating expertise to the Covetrus board.
